Here it is, plain and simple: a breakdown of the millions of people who would live in poverty if it weren't for government programs like Social Security, food stamps, and unemployment. And if you've been paying attention lately, have you noticed how many of these programs Republicans have specifically targeted for cuts? That's right — all of them. If Republicans are at all concerned with reducing poverty, it's something we have yet to see. Because as it stands how, the party of "no" also appears to be the party whose policies would balance the budget at the expense of plunging millions of Americans into poverty.
