Earlier this month, we learned from the Treasury Department that the richest 1% aren't paying $163 billion they owe in taxes each year.
The IRS lost more than 33,000 employees between 2010 and 2020, including those that audit returns and collect unpaid taxes.
These cuts have resulted in the IRS auditing fewer than 2 out of every 100 taxpayers earning more than $1 million in 2020.
We cannot allow the wealthy to continue tax dodging.
The IRS must have the funds to beef up enforcement. Every additional $1 of IRS funding yields $4 of tax revenue, mostly from the very rich who illegally avoid paying taxes owed.
Please join Robert Reich and DFA by signing on to demand Congress fully fund the IRS and stop billionaire tax dodging.
