Demand the Senate pass the PRO Act

On March 9th the United States House of Representatives passed H.R.842, Protecting the Right to Organize Act of 2021, known as the PRO Act.

If passed, the PRO Act would provide millions of workers across the country with additional protections to organize and collectively bargain.

More specifically, the legislation:

  • Gives workers more control
  • Imposes real penalties when employers break the law
  • Strengthens strikes by enhancing support for worker strikes and boycotts
  • Cracks down on worker misclassification by closing loopholes in federal employment and labor laws.
  • Ensures that employers are penalized for illegally retaliating against workers trying to organize
  • Prohibits employers from permanently replacing workers when they strike
  • Prevents workers from be wrongly deprived of their organizing and bargaining rights by being misclassified as supervisors or independent contractors
