Netflix recently announced that they will provide unlimited family leave following the birth or adoption of a child for up to one year.
But then we learned that the new unlimited leave policy at Netflix isn't being extended to everyone. For the mostly-hourly employees who work in the DVD department, these generous benefits will still be off the table.
A worker's ability to care for their family should not be dependent on what department they work in. All parents -- whether they work in the corner office or on the distribution center floor -- deserve to be able to bond with their children and give them the care they need in those precious first weeks and months together.
That's why Democracy for America is following the leadership of our allies at Coworker.org and calling on Netflix to give us something to really celebrate: Extend your unlimited parental leave policy to ALL of your employees.
